St. Louis is the home of our corporate offices for St. Louis Cold Drawn, Inc. / Quality Engineered Steels, LLC and houses four (4) drawing lines. Our St. Louis production facility (St. Louis Cold Drawn, Inc.) produces rounds, hexagons, and squares in a very competitive size range, with advanced machinery. In 1995 we installed the first Danieli "Chain-Track" combined drawing line in North America. The 8-ton drawing line can cold draw, straighten, and non-destructively test for surface defects in-line at speeds of up to 492 feet per minute. This addition has allowed St. Louis Cold Drawn, Inc., to increase productivity by approximately 14,000 tons per year, while at the same time decreasing the cost per ton of steel produced with improved product quality. Coupled with the three (3) other cold drawing lines in St. Louis, this "Chain-Track" enables St. Louis Cold Drawn, Inc., to become one of the most efficient cold drawn bar producers in the industry. Following is a list of cold drawn steel bars produced at our St. Louis facility:
